OPEN PRESS is built to support independent expression. These guidelines describe the narrow set of content we do not permit.

Political and editorial opinion, criticism of public figures and organizations, satire, investigative reporting, cultural commentary, strong language, unpopular positions and controversial journalism are all permitted. We do not require publishers to hold any particular political, religious, cultural or ideological viewpoint.

  1. Child sexual exploitation material
  2. Credible threats of violence
  3. Direct incitement to violence
  4. Content facilitating serious criminal wrongdoing
  5. Doxxing intended to cause harm
  6. Non-consensual intimate imagery
  7. Fraud and scams
  8. Malicious software
  9. Harmful impersonation
  10. Spam and automated abuse
  11. Content violating applicable law
  12. Copyright infringement when properly reported

How we apply these rules

We do not remove content simply because it is controversial, offensive, unpopular or politically sensitive. Moderation decisions are recorded, and every action taken by an administrator is logged with the reason, target and timestamp.

Reporting

Every published article includes a report option. Reports go to our moderation queue for human review.
